Katie Hawley is  a leadership and organization development consultant and certified coach with more than 25 years of experience driving organizational success through people and processes. She facilitates positive change for individuals and teams, resulting in measurable levels of increased organizational effectiveness. 

 

Her work is grounded in emotional intelligence, Gestalt theory and the Appreciative Inquiry strength-based change model. She relishes supporting leaders at moments of significant challenge or opportunity, pulling forward their underlying intention to bring clarity to future choices and actions.

Current clients include individual leaders, teams and boards across a range of industries --from higher education to health care, manufacturing to marketing, and social services to financial services.  Prior to founding Hawley Consulting Services, Katie spent 25 years in a variety of leadership roles in higher education, including as Vice President at Champlain College in Burlington, VT. In this capacity she led the College’s human resources and organization development functions, as well as, strategic communications, external relations, the Board of Trustees, and the President's Office.

Katie earned a Certificate in HR Transformation from Cornell, M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Vermont ,and a B.A. in Communications/Journalism from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. 

​

She is a 2018 graduate of iGOLD (International Gestalt Organization & Leadership Development) through which she worked and learned in Amsterdam, Budapest, Cape Town, Milan, and Singapore.

 

She is an ICF-certified coach and a Certified Professional in Talent Development from ATD. Additionally, she is an approved administrator of Korn Ferry's Emotional Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) 360-feedback process and a trained facilitator for the Google-initiative #IamRemarkable.

Katie is co-author, with Dr. Laurie Quinn, of  “What If and Why Not? A Culture of Reinvention at Champlain College” published in the journal New Directions in Higher Education.

​

She resides in Burlington, Vermont where she embraces the super-convenient ten minute drive to the airport from which she regularly explores the far corners of the world.
